Happy Summer to all!  I trust everyone is enjoying their summer.  The needs of our community do not take vacations during the summer, and the Deacons continue their ministries all year long.  June 2 the weather was finally clear for the first highway clean-up of 2007.  There did not seem to be as much trash as usual for a first clean-up, but there was still plenty to go around.  Deacons continue to sit with the residents of Echoing Hills who worship with us.  Our next Bingo outing to Echoing Hills is scheduled for August 16.  I invite anyone to join us.  The residents really appreciate our time and fun is had by all.  We meet at the church at 6:30 pm and car pool out together.  An hour or two of your time means so much to the residents and staff.

The food pantry is always in need of donations and the Deacons are scheduled to man the grocery cart at Buehler's on July 28.  Volunteers are needed to distribute flyers to people entering the store with food suggestions and to collect cash donations.  Please contact a deacon or the office if you are interested in helping with this effort.  As always, our efforts cannot be achieved without the generosity of the congregation.  Please continue to give as you are spiritually led to support the Deacons programs.  Summer will quickly pass, and before we know it, children returning to school will rely on us for back-to-school clothing.  I continue to be blessed to lead the Board of Deacons.  God bless you all!
